Sc.B. Environmental Science, Conservation Science & Policy Track

Here at The Witman Lab I am working to develop the ‘ears’ of our research. Recent hydrophone deployments can be used to understand the biodiversity patterns of marine organisms. I hope to continue exploring how anthropogenic acoustic disturbances from divers and dive boats impact the biologic marine soundscape.

I am fascinated by the intersection of people and environment. With career goals in resource management, I take any opportunity to get outside and connect people to their natural environments. I first got a taste for field work during a summer field course in Ecuador. As a park ranger for Acadia National Park, I guided middle schoolers through geology, marine biology, and forest ecology. During the pandemic I was admitted to the Ted Smith Conservation Internship Program and moved to Alaska for 8 months to work as a research and education naturalist based in Homer. More recently I joined Ausbon Sargent Preservation Land Trust as Stewardship Assistant to contribute to the management of easements and development of public programming. At Brown I am a manager for the Brown Outdoor Leadership Training Program (BOLT), a summer backpacking trip for rising sophomores.
