Hi! I am Emilia Dell'Antonio ('22) and I am studying Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Sc.B. at Brown. I have worked in the Witman Lab since the fall of 2018 and helped with the Galapagos-based projects such as barnacle recruitment, benthic predator abundance monitoring, and Robbie Lamb's fish herbivory project. I have since transitioned my attention to Rapa Nui (Easter Island), where I am studying photo quadrats to describe benthic invertebrate biodiversity and species richness and interspecific spatial associations in Rapa Nui coral reefs.
I grew up in Barrington, Rhode Island and spent my summers exploring the rocky intertidal zone of Narragansett Bay. As a teenager, I began sailing during the summers and fell in love with the sport and art of sailing. I have been a sailing instructor since I was 15 and in 2021 I worked as an instructor in the British Virgin Islands where I spent time teaching sailing, leading group snorkeling adventures, and freediving.
In the near future I hope to complete the PADI Divemaster program and begin field research in marine ecology. I am passionate about coral reef conservation and I am looking to continue work in Rapa Nui and beyond.
