Today the Witman lab embarks on a 6-day cruise aboard the S/V Pirata to monitor the effects of the currently building El Niño on Galapagos rocky reefs. We will be visiting 6 different sites around the islands of Floreana, 4 Hermanos, Pinzón, and Santa Cruz, surveying fish and benthic communities. Stay tuned for pictures and video from our trip! And introducing the newest (borrowed) member of the Witman lab, Anaide Wrublewski is visiting us this year from Brazil. She works on functional diversity and biogeography of benthic communities in Sergio Floeter's Marine Macroecology and Biogeography Lab in Brazil. We're excited to have her here, welcome Anaide!
